October Update

The season is in full swing! October has been an eventful month for our Vipers. The U10 Red, U12 Red, U12 White, U12 Blue, U13 Red, U13 White, and U16 White teams competed in the RI Sting Tournament from October 11th to the 14th. More recently, our U14 Red and U14 White teams both traveled to Lake Placid, NY for the CAN/AM Challenge Cup from October 25th to the 27th.

U10: The U10 team had a great win against the Eagles, coming together as a cohesive unit to secure the 3-1 victory. Solid play on both ends of the ice and a strong team effort led to this fantastic result!

U12 Red: The U12-1 Red team played a tough game against the Islanders who are the #1 team in their division. Both teams played a solid game. Scarlett Hollien had a pair of goals and Lucy Trzcinka had a goal from a nice shot from the point. The game ended in a 3-3 tie. The U12 Red team played the Lady Flames and from early on they controlled the game. Goals came from Melania DiVirgilio (Scarlett Hollien and Quinn Campbell with the assist), Hayden Reardon, Brooke Barton, and Kenzie Dunnett! Vipers ended the game with a nice 4-1 win!!

U12 White: The team played with great effort and had many amazing plays leading to goals in their game vs Mid-Fairfield (4-0 W). The girls worked together and it really paid off in the end. Though the team didn’t come out on top against the Worcester Crusaders (3-2 L), there’s a lot to be proud of. The Vipers were up 2-0 before tiring in the third period. But, the improvement from the previous week’s game showed how much growth they’ve made, which is impressive. The team’s competitiveness has definitely stepped up, and we’re excited to see more of that in the future.

U12 Blue: In a thrilling game against Assabet, the team started strong, jumping to a 5-1 lead. The girls held off Assabet’s strong attack to win the game 7-5. Lucia DeFeo and Mallory McDermott both had hat tricks, while Emma McSheehy scored the game-winning goal! There is much to be proud of with the girl’s unselfish team play.

U13 Red: The U13-1 Red team had a fantastic 3-1 win against the RI Sting. The victory was highlighted by solid team defense and excellent goaltending.

U13 White: The team showed real grit in their 3-2 win over the Wizards, with standout play from the entire roster. They continue to build on momentum as the season progresses, ranking them #2 in the NEGHL standings.

U14 Red: The U14-1 Red team had a solid performance with a 3-1 victory over the Boston Jr. Terriers. Their next game ended in a 1-1 tie against the Islanders, showing their resilience and teamwork. Most recently they had great team play in Lake Placid, NY during the CAN/AM Challenge Cup. The girls worked together to earn the Silver Medal, which is something to be extremely proud of!

U14 White: The U14 White team had an excellent full-team effort in a 4-0 victory over the NH Wildcats. Goals from Avery Condon, Mia Basile, Kerry Friez, and Ryley Lopes sealed the win. A special shout-out to Joy Tremblay for earning a well-deserved shutout in goal! Incredible memories were made in their recent trip up to Lake Placid, NY for the CAN/AM Challenge Cup. The girls competed all weekend long and were just shy of winning the Bronze Medal game. The team happily took wins away from a few tough Canadian Hockey Clubs.

U16 Red: The U16-1 Red team had a strong 4-2 win over the RI Sting, showing great depth and teamwork across all players. Most recently, they stole the show in a tight game versus Casco Bay securing the 2-1 win. This play prepared the team for an exciting 3-0 victory over the Charles River Blazers to earn their spot in the State Tournament!

U16 White: The U16-2s went 3-0 at the RI sting tourney! Game 1 vs the Wizards was a 3-2 Win despite a short bench. Goals by Angelina Caterino and Emily Delaire (2). Game 2 was a 6-2 win vs Seacoast Spartans. Angela Cardillo had 2 goals. Francesca Indrisano and Maeve Wopperer (1 goal) played strong on D. Game 3 was a 4-2 win vs Amherst. Taylor Gallant had a goal. U19 Red: An exciting shout-out for the Vipers vs the Spitfires. The team showed resilience and solid defensive play throughout the game to secure the 4-0 W. With only a few weeks left in the season, the team is focused and will be ready for their next challenge.

U19 White: The U19 White team capitalized in their game vs the Shoreline Sharks. Putting up a strong offensive and defensive front they earned a 5-1 W. The girls look to continue with this momentum in their upcoming play-down game vs the Crimson Pride to punch their ticket into the State Tournament. Good luck girls!
