October Update
The Vipers played a lot of hockey in October! Starting the month off strong, 8 of our teams participated in the RI Sting Tournament. The U12-1 Red team made it to the semi-finals, the U12-Minor 2 Blue team made it to the finals, the U13-2s made it to the semi-finals, and the U19-2 team went undefeated and placed first in the tournament. Shout out to Allison Neiley (U19-2 player) who had 4 goals and 2 assists in the 4 tourney games. Great work girls!!
Highlights from October:
U10: Milania Alyward had the game-winning goal for the u10 team vs Casco Bay! She never gave up and crashed the net with 2 minutes left in the game, Vipers won 4-3!
U12-1 Red: Taylor Nickerson made some key saves early vs the Terriers and Kendall Powers made her Vipers debut, both goalies were outstanding. Olivia Polles and Kaylee Dinkel put up goals to pace the offense. Sofia Cleary and Natalia Cyrier had strong games. Against the Wolfpack Olivia Polles stayed hot, netting another goal and Izzie Burke fought hard to post a goal of her own. Adriana Demsey and Abby Vaill once again showed their versatility by playing strong games at both defense and forward.
U12-Major 2 White: Great game vs the Eagles. Both of our goalies had amazing games! Vipers had the first goal of the game by Brooke Barton. Scarlett Hollien had the second goal for the Vipers in the second period. Vipers dug deep and pulled their goalie with 1:30 left in the game and Scarlett Hollien was able to put the tying goal away after crashing the net with 7 seconds left in the game! Way to go girls!
U12-Minor 2 Blue: The team has continued their tough play throughout the first 2 months leaving them with a high win count so far. The games have been led by excellent goaltending, good puck movement, and getting bodies to the net.
U13-1 Red: Emma Krawczyk banged in her 1st goal as Viper vs Mass Conn. The following weekend second year U13-1 Viper, Isabel Taddia tied the game vs Cape Cod Storm at 1 with her first goal of the season.
U13-2 White: On the U13-2s Leonie Betton scored her first NEGHL goal and Loghan Cahill, who plays forward for the Vipers, stepped up to the plate and started her first game in net.
U14-1 Red: The team continues Sarah Duval’s legacy with orange tape and orange laces worn every time they take the ice.
