Chris Czarnota Named Goalie Skills Director

With great pleasure, the North Shore Vipers announce Chris Czarnota as our Goalie Skills Director.

Chris Czarnota is a highly experienced and accomplished hockey coach specializing in goaltender development. Currently, he is a lead instructor for Shield Goaltending. Over the past decade, Czarnota has worked with goalies of all ages, from learn-to-skate programs to NCAA Division III teams. His coaching journey includes stints as a head coach and assistant coach roles at the NCAA DIII level.

Czarnota notably contributed to the success of the Norwich University men’s and women’s ice hockey programs during his three seasons there. His work with the Norwich women’s team was instrumental in their national championship win in the 2017-18 season. Additionally, Czarnota’s mentorship was pivotal in the 2019-20 season when he guided Tom Aubrun, who went on to win the Sid Watson Award and set five NCAA Division III goalie records. Most recently, Czarnota mentored the NCAA DIII women’s save percentage champion, who achieved an impressive save percentage of .970.

Welcome to the Vipers Chris, we are very excited to have you join our organization!
